im planning a vacation/ escapade alone on bali indonesia....ok ba dito?

i know nagkaroon ng bombings dito dati...pero matagal tagal na naman iyon, right?

hmmm..balak ko l\rin bisitahin mga neghboring countries natin....saan ba ok mag hop?singapore?malaysia?

pero priority ko talaga mag beach..ALONE.

sir you might wanna visit thailand first, sabi ng kapatid ko mas maganda daw doon sa phuket and pattaya kesa sa bali, parang pinas lang naman daw kasi ang bali indonesia..

sa singapore naman pangit daw beach.. maganda ang place.

then kung gusto mo ng maganda rin daw ang place po, australia super nice daw talaga yung place... hehe medyo mahal nga lang ;) and malamig

again, if beach thailand... research po kayo ng konti, btw yung pattaya doon yung THE BEACH na movie banda ginanap

bali if mahilig ka mag-surfing and bar-hopping. dirt cheap daw ngayon dun sabi ng isang kasama ko dito sa work, galing lang sila last month.

tip for bali: look for the single (meaning alone) australian female wandering around. she's probably a college girl on vacation with a group of other girls and they have all gone separate ways to get boys. they don't care for skin color, they just want to get laid.

pattaya kung mahilig ka sa beach, you like nice hotels and you like thai girls. thailand still has the highest incidence of aids in asia so be careful.

Di masyado maganda beach sa Bali, though maraming hotels na magaganda. Phi phi island yata sa Thailand mas okay.

Sana can afford din namin mag summer shebang kagaya mo overseas. Baka dito na lang kami sa Bato-Bato sa Pansol hahaha!

some tips:

thailand:

masyadong crowded at pattaya. its just 2 hours from bangkok so madaming tao lagi doon. but if you decide to go there, stay in hat jomtien, mas malinis ang beach doon compared to hat pattaya area. may kart circuit din doon so you may want to give it a try. B150-B200 ata per hour. ingat lang sa mga pimps, transvestites at makukulit na prosti.

if you are coming from bangkok, i suggest you take your backpack and travel south. suggestion ko is 1st visit koh samet (about 200kms from Bangkok, accessible by aircon tourist bus), then head to koh chang island. ganda dun, linis beach, di commercialized. or you may want to take a ferry to chum**** (another island), then proceed to koh samui, to visit the neighboring islands koh phangan and koh tao. koh samui parang boracay, highly commercialized but nice and clean beaches. mas subdued (at mura) ang koh phangan (i know of a nice & cheap place to stay there, PM me if interested). maganda i-timing mo ang pasyal mo sa koh phangan durng the full moon, kasi may rave party sa beach that time. drinks are cheap! girls are overflowing there, dancing & getting drunk. party all nite sa haadrin beach! scuba diving is nice & cheap in koh tao. cheap accomodations din (about B200 for a fan room/nite). its very near koh nang yuan nga island, a unique place where 3 islands are connected via sand bridges. great dive spots there! there are also the koh phi phi islands (never been there yet, but i heard its very serene, minimal crowd mostly backpackers).

if you want to head south west, andun ang phuket (expensive), ao nang/krabi (expensive, that's where the james bond island is). B500 per person for a tour. pero magaganda din ang beaches dun. you can do rock climbing in krabi also (railay beach). very commercialized na rin ang phuket & krabi.

bali:

things werent the same after the bombings there. although naka-recover na, parang di pa rin back to normal when i was there about 2 yrs ago. konti ang tourists, pero ok yon para sa atin kasi mura ang mga bilihin. if you like to do surfing, then this is the place to go. i stayed in hard rock hotel when i was there. i find the bali expensive compared to the places ive been to thailand.

singapore:

skip singapore if you are looking for nice beaches. there aint one! :D

malaysia:

recommended places: tioman (3 hours by bus from KL to mersing jetty, then high-speed ferry to tioman), redang island (north-east, take a 1 hour flight or overnite bus), sipadan (south-east, definitely take a 1 hour flight from KL to kota kinabalu, 3-4 hour land travel to ferry station, then ferry ride for 30 mins). no more abu sayaff visits there recently! :D

go to phuket if you want beaches... masaya dyan =)

sa malaysia.. ok lang naman mga beach dun pero para sakin kaysa magpunta ako ng malaysia pupunta nalang ako sa bohol (may strip ng beaches sa bohol na parang boracay --mas pino pa ang white sand dun kaysa sa white sand sa Bora). Tsaka sobrang parang pilipinas ang malaysia... yung kalat sa kalye pati yung traffic.

sa singapore... sentosa lang ang magandang beach dito pero hindi sya extravagant. shopping kasi talaga ang habol sa singapore kapag summer kasi meron silang "singapore summer sale". mageenjoy ka dun kakabili ng sapatos kasi mura. =) dami malls dun at mageenjoy ka talaga yun nga lang dapat malaki budget.

i just read that medyo hindi safe sa southern thailand nowadays. apparently some muslim extremists are causing some trouble around the thai-malaysia border towns. koh samui islands are safe though, medyo malayo na kasi from the border.

We're going to Bali tomorrow...

Last year, hindi ako sumama sa Phuket kasi uso ang SARS at may mga HK team kaming kasama. Wala namang masamang nangyari kaya laking panghihinayang ko.

Anyway, hindi naman ako pwedeng mamili ng place eh kaya enjoy ko na lang.
