All light bulbs at home are low-mercury CFL type bulbs.
My computer monitor is now a LCD panel (saves power).
My car runs on LPG (cleaner than gasoline).
All my movies and videos watched at home are on hard disk... much less plastic from DVD/VCDs. Distribution is electronic, less pollution from actual transport of DVDs, etc to retail stores, etc.
I use rechargeable batteries when possible (remotes control, camera, etc).
My toilets are dual flush to save water.
I recycle/reuse my plastic grocery bags.Last edited by ghosthunter; September 21st, 2009 at 01:36 PM.

Using nothing but CFLs.
Use an AC timer at night.
We've been recycling shopping bags for years. We have enough to use as trash bags from now till Armageddon.
Batteries? What are batteries?
Dual flush. Sometimes, we don't even flush.
LPG conversion... so we can sleep in the car in the parking lot without spending so much on gasoline... :hysterical:

My bathroom tissue paper comes from a cultivated forest. This prevents the cutting down of virgin forest for paper.

edit: its made from recycled paper, not virgin pulp.Last edited by ghosthunter; September 24th, 2009 at 02:25 AM.

True. It still uses trees but no new forests are cut down to make new paper. In that way, it's more carbon neutral. It helps preserve native virgin forests from being cut down.
The world cannot stop using paper but the world can stop cutting down virgin forests to make paper it needs.
