Coffee maker makes for a "cleaner" cup, since it uses a paper filter. Cleaner literally because even the tiniest of sediments will be filtered out and cleaner taste because the paper filter will also catch the oils from the coffee.

A french press will make a more robust cup, with more body. It's an immersion method of brewing, meaning the grounds will have more contact with the water, and no paper filter so the oils will go through as well. Be mindful though to steep at most around 4 minutes and to decant immediately after pressing the plunger so the coffee doesn't get unpleasantly bitter.

Ease of use:

Coffee maker: Put in paper filter, some grounds, then water. Press a button then you're good to go. Only downside is if you're mindful of the waste from the single use coffee filter--that you have to buy separately.

French press: Heat water, pour over grounds in french press, wait 3-4 minutes, press plunger, then decant into mugs. Less waste and less carbon footprint. Just note that you need coarse ground coffee-- if too fine, you'll have some residue at the bottom of your cup.

Capacity:

Coffee maker, anywhere from 4-8 cups. Or more. French press 2-4 cups.

Price:

You can buy either for less than a thousand.

But not all items sa daiso are cheap ha, compare nyo lang sa ibang supermarket, baka mas mura. Like I was going to buy a screen filter for our faucet, price sa daiso is 80 pesos, sa true value it's only 30+pesos lang.
