I love it when it's sunny and high temperatures are in the 60's (F). Perfect for times I'm wearing anything more than t-shirt and shorts.

Beautiful day if a bit cool at the main grounds of the University of Arizona. It feels weird to have my eldest kid and I going to the same college.



I hope it hits 70F today. It's been mostly 50's F and 60's F during the past few days.

We're currently at 47F at 6 AM here in Arizona. Not the warmest. But, it beats the 12F and 14F of Upstate New York and Montreal, respectively.

Our friends and relatives there are grumbling at how cold it is. Wait until they hit -40F (probably next month).

We're currently at 47F at 6 AM here in Arizona. Not the warmest. But, it beats the 12F and 14F of Upstate New York and Montreal, respectively.

Our friends and relatives there are grumbling at how cold it is. Wait until they hit -40F (probably next month).

About 15 years ago, I lived in Upstate New York and boy that place is cold. In January and February, temperatures drop to -30*F. Chicago winter is even tolerable even with the windy conditions. I only hope for snow to drop in those months as it gets a bit warmer (around 0-10*F). When spring did come in May that year (April was still below freezing), we were all so excited to go out that we were playing hoops outside in 45-50*F weather.

The only time I was in Arizona was in April 2011 when I visited Bullhead and it was really hot (100*F).

We spent over six years in Upstate New York. I wanted to stay there because it's beautiful country. I love cold weather. But, my wife and kids had had enough of the six-month winters. So, we moved back here in Arizona. Good thing we didn't sell our house here.

I spent some time in Illinois when I cross-trained to the weather career field. I also spent a semester at the University of Illinois. Winters weren't as bad as in Upstate New York. But, summer is tornado season.

The first official 32F (0C) morning of 2018 here. It doesn't mean much to me except the only time I drink coffee is if it's freezing.

I wish the mornings would warm up a bit say, low 50's F, so that I don't have to wear a light jacket. So far, morning temperatures have been in the upper 30's F.

I guess I'm finally adjusting to temperatures here in Arizona. Back in Upstate New York, some people (not me )already wear shorts when temperatures are in the 30's F.

Talk about sudden climate shifts. Yesterday, the low temperature was 35F, barely above freezing. At 4 AM right now? It's 59F. Looks like winter is officially over.

In the meantime, Upstate New York is in the 20's. That means they're getting snow. If there was no snow and the skies are clear, it would be single-digits or below 0F over there. Of course, I just had to let relatives there know how balmy it is over here. They should visit sometimes.

Summer's here. The weather warming up near the end of February made me happy when I was a kid. It means vacation's just around the corner.
