Ingat lang...
MANILA - Heavy rains spawned floods and caused traffic jams across parts of Metro Manila again early Monday night.
The rains are caused by the southwest monsoon made more intense by tropical depression Emong, according to weather bureau PAGASA.
Data from the Department of Science and Technology's Project Noah showed a sudden spike in rainfall over Sampaloc, Manila Monday afternoon.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, in a series of advisories on Twitter, said flooded roads include:
Biak Na Bato Quezon Avenue westbound;
Ortigas Avenue eastbound;
EDSA Megamall Service Rd. northbound;
EDSA Santolan northbound;
EDSA Main Ave northbound;
C5 Tiendesitas southbound;
C5 Bagong Ilog northbound;
Blumentritt; and,
Aurora Blvd.
The Pasig local government said floodwaters were also rising in some roads in the city.
Meanwhile, floodwaters are rising at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila, according to campus newspaper The Varsitarian.
MMDA CCTV footage along EDSA showed southbound road traffic grinding to a standstill amid the heavy rains.Last edited by Monseratto; June 17th, 2013 at 10:21 PM.

May warning for Wednesday and Thursday...
MANILA - Got plans for Wednesday-Thursday? Bring an umbrella.
According to PAGASA weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar, the state weather bureau expects rains starting tomorrow until Friday due to tropical depression Emong.
"Pwede pong sa Miyerkules at Huwebes ang pinakamalakas na pag-ulan sa Metro Manila dulot ng pag-iibayong hanging habagat ng Bagyong Emong," she told radio dzMM.
"Simula po bukas hanggang Biyernes pero ang pinakamalakas ay Miyerkules at Huwebes," she added.
She said as of 5 pm Monday, a thunderstorm is affecting Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Metro Manila, Laguna, parts of Bulacan, Tarlac, Batangas, Quezon province and Rizal.
She said the inclement weather currently affecting Metro Manila is due to a convergence of the southwest and northwest monsoons.

Dito sa SouthMM, umulan lang ng malakas, kumidlat at kumulog,- natunaw na ang utak ng mga drivers,- nawala ang disiplina sa kalye.... Wala na ang open intersection at respeto sa traffic lights....
Sobra na ang traffic and driving oh so suddenly has become not for the weak at heart, sadly....
