curious lang ako, pano ba napapahinto ang eroplano?
katulad ba ng sa mga oto/truck na may preno?
disc break ba or drum, hydraulic, pnemautic?

sa aircraft carrier, merong cable na sumasabit yung mga airplane.

sa airport, yung mga airplane ng rereverse engine, makikita mo yung side ng engine bumubukas para magreverse thrust.

it's a combination of different factors.

first would be the wing flaps. it is positioned at an angle that will slow the plane's momentum.

second is the reverse thrust. it blocks the air coming from the engine and forces it to go up and down instead of pushing thru the back thereby slowing down the plane significantly.

last would be the brakes on the wheels.. dunno what type of brakes though..

    You are the MAN.

what type of brake? Its a drilled disc brake similar to high performace car but bigger and thicker and equiped w/ anti-lock brake system now using by most cars and trucks. A 747 jet has 9 disc brake.

Those brakes control by 2 back rudder pedal controlled by pilot feet. If the pilot steps on the top of right pedal, only the rights brakes engaged same holds thru other side. They are assisted by reverse thrust.

On the Aircraft carrier, jet pilot must bring down his tailhook for the purpose to hook the arresting cable on the flightdeck. If he connect the hook to the cable it will assisted with powerfull reverse thrust and the disc brake similar to those in the commercial jet.

sa commercial aircraft ...combination of hydraulic brake sa tires, hydraulic flaps down sa wings and reverse thrust sa engine.

pano humihinto ang eroplano?
