when i went to cebu around 5 months ago, had the chance to talk with the "cute" FA who is sitting in front of me before take off. (i always take the fire exit seat dahil nasisikipan ako sa hindi...)

per flight ang pay nila, but i really did not ask for the actual figures.

Talaga. What if the flight was cancelled, say due to bad weather or technical problem. Cancelled din ba ang pay? Same din kaya with the pilots.

most likely no. after all, they have records to prove that. and i think they are not paid after every trip. they log each trip, report it and paid also on a monthly basis, divided by two.

The difference is a fine dining restaurant doesn't fall from 35,000 feet and kill the waiter/waitress. A pilot is responsible for the lives on board the plane which can be up to 400 people, a heavy machine operator doesn't have top worry about killing that many people with one mistake.

FA: The people you serve can afford to fly..... and all of you are 30000 ft (?) off the ground...

Pilot: You're in charge of a few hundred lives, while driving a multimillion dollar vehicle....
