Gambling as a tourism attraction really attracts the dark side of humanity. Sigh.. Check out this Chinese dude. He was hoping to ride out the Zombie Apocalypse at Resorts World. My favourite WTF detail: The Hammer

Chinese 'high roller' arrested for weapons, shabu in Pasay City casino
(UPDATED 11:44 a.m.) A Chinese national carrying several firearms, grenades, and shabu was nabbed by Pasay Police around 5:00 a.m. Thursday.

The suspect, Jerry Sy, was arrested when a commotion broke out after he attempted to stab another Chinese national at a Pasay City casino.

The incident led authorities to discover seven firearms, including an assault rifle, inside his vehicle.

Taser guns, spikes, hammers, knives, three gun silencers, and hundreds of ammunition were also found in his possession.

The suspect, who is reportedly a platinum cardholder of the casino, is a “high roller,” a Pasay City official said in an interview over Mornings at ANC.

It's also one of the major causes of broken families for the locals. When a spouse gets addicted to gambling, the children and the partner suffers.

a number of other things can be blamed for that as well: drugs, alcohol, infidelity, etc. Ang nakakatakot lang nga sa casinos e ang daming nagbubukasan sabay sabay. Makes you wonder how big the market really is. And they integrate it within malls, entertainment centers, even workplaces kaya highly visible.

And sadly we don't have any support groups here for gambling addiction and such.

btw, been to casinos many times, at almost all occassions, not by choice -- di ko ma take yung usok at ingay. i'd rather have coffee(and i'm not a coffee drinker)

Triad? Too many James Bond movies? Baka gambling financier yan sa casino...

Anyway, i've likewise never stepped into a casino nor plan to. Pati sa work, unethical sa amin makita sa casino since we are tasked to handle company an other people's money. One time a senior officer of the bank i used to work at saw a known client step out of a casino in the hotel. He snooped around a bit and learned he was a somewhat of a high roller. The following week, he had the account officer call in all the client's business loans and cancelled his lines.

hmm, now i understand better why people go abroad to gamble

Singapore is handling the gaming business well imho -- bawal ata ang mismong Singaporeans to gamble in their own casinos. i seriously doubt kung mangyayari yan dito sa atin.

Madalas akong kantiyawin na sobra ko daw straight 'coz i don't gamble. Manigas sila :p

The suspect was driving an accord. I wonder how it got into RW parking lot. Para saan ung pasilip-silip at pa mirror2 sa ilalim? Para check kung flat ang gulong?
