Generally the regulars on the board don't use text speak and i recall that a lot of forumers also remind the newbies who do so (whether or not they're a moderator).

Even while texting i abhor using text speak. It degrades one's writing abilities over time.

Regulars are pitching in the best they can. However, report button is still your best friend.

Mods don't need to be super technical about cars IMO

They just need to be objective enough on their judgement and have the time to monitor and maintain sanity in the forums. There a lot of guys here who qualify to be mods.
