I guess Germany is not too eager to find itself in another war with Russia. In WW2, the Germans were brutal in its campaign against Russia and Russia willingly returned it when the Germans retreated.

it's more on Germany looking into the future

they don't want to sever ties with Russia that's why they're hesitant in sending lethal weapons to ukraine

they need to look like they're cooperating with the US by sending stuff to ukraine but they need to hold back so as not to anger russia too much

keep in mind (before the invasion) things were going well with Germany and Russia

the design was -- the German economy will be powered by cheap Russian gas

it was the perfect partnership... and the US hated it

then this war happened at nasira ang plano

but Germany is still hoping after this war, pwede ma-rekindle ang relationship with russia

that's why Germany is behaving in this strange manner

on one hand, they're part of NATO and obliged to help ukraine fight russia

on the other hand, they don't wanna help fight russia too much coz they still wanna be friends later

the US knows this that's why the Nordstream pipelines were destroyed

although the one responsible for that was never determined, everybody knows who did it

it's like the US is telling Germany:

"we know you're hoping your relationship with russia will resume"

"we're going to eliminate the very thing that's giving you hope"

putin's army had time to build layered defence perimeter with minefield, dragon teeth and trenches. Ukraine troops that get stuck in one of them get subjected to barrage from artillery fire and attack helicopters.

Ukrainian Troops Trained by the West Stumble in Battle

Equipped with advanced American weapons and heralded as the vanguard of a major assault, the troops became bogged down in dense Russian minefields under constant fire from artillery and helicopter gunships. Units got lost. One unit delayed a nighttime attack until dawn, losing its advantage. Another fared so badly that commanders yanked it off the battlefield altogether.

Now the Western-trained Ukrainian brigades are trying to turn things around, U.S. officials and independent analysts say. Ukrainian military commanders have changed tactics, focusing on wearing down the Russian forces with artillery and long-range missiles instead of plunging into minefields under fire. A troop surge is underway in the country’s south, with a second wave of Western-trained forces launching mostly small-scale attacks to punch through Russian lines.

Russia's 'invasion and occupation' of Ukrainian territory.
