Pinaparinig ng yung usapan nila, gwardya pa lang ang kausap niya, kung pwede daw siya ipasok kahit isang araw lang pwedeng janitor o kahit ano mang trabaho, maitawid lang ang isang araw. Pero actually dati siyang systems analist ng isang shipping company.
Sabi pa niya, "I don't want to be an educated beggar." Yung nagpadala ng sulat, nakita lang niya somewhere, inalok nila ng pagkain pero tinaggihan niya kasi alam daw niya na ang pamilyang iniwanan niya ay hindi pa din kumakain.
Teka lang di ko pa matapos kwento ko, kailangan ko muna umalisanyway, ang kulang na lang naman ay kung anu-ano ang ginawa ng wish ko lang.

Nakaka-touch din yung kwento ni Felix Subida, yung PGH nurse na sobrang kumakayod para sa misis niyang may kidney failure.

Tama si Ms. Lee, makes you realize na yung mga problema mo sa buhay wala sa kalingkingan ng mga taong katulad ni Lolo Jan.

magsilbi sanang inspirasyon si lolo jan sa mga taong malalakas ang pangangatawan na ayaw magsitrabaho, at umaasa lang sa abuloy, anak ang pinagta trabaho at limos, or even worse, sa pagnanakaw at panloloko sa kapwa..

I feel disgusted with myself! Sobra hanga ko kay Lolo Jan, I know that I can never do what he does. I feel like a weakling.
Konting problema lang, I complain na nga eh tapos eto ang isang 82 year old na kahanga-hanga.

August 17th, 2008 01:08 AM #9I watched a rerun of this episode just tonight via Sine Totoo. Lolo Jan's story is inspiring and a personal gut check.
Claire Lee, the one who wrote the letter to Wish Ko Lang, posted a copy of the letter in her blog (clairelee.multiply.com/journal/item/2/Wish_Ko_Lang_Letter)
Lolo Jan lost his son and daughter in law in a vehicular accident (this fact was not mentioned in the episode) that is why he had to take care of his granddaughters.
Lolo Jan, thank you for being an inspiration.
