    may nature.
and if i have to go to the metro, it's just a (leisurely, hopefully) drive away.
the hell with taal. i'll stay indoors in the meanwhile.

Dami kong preconditions. If I didn't have to work and no pandemic? El Nido. Because there are no crowds and daily vitamin sea.

Baguio sana for me. Same as Doc D, tipid sa aircon. Maraming fresh na gulay. All I need is a reliable internet to work from home. With SCTEX and TPLEX mabilis biyahe to NCR on weekend.

Gusto ko din Baguio before but it's super crowded now. Smog is worse pa nga daw than Manila sometimes.

Tagaytay naman ayaw ko na rin because of Taal volcano.

El Nido is nice but far from good healthcare ... Ideal place would be far from main cities and near nature but safe / secure and with nearby access to healthcare (1 or 2 hour drive) ...

Brat, mag-bike ka na lang, probably mountain bike to be specific. Unli ahon at unli downhill din.

For me syempre original choice is to retire in our own island hometown in Mindoro. But I heard maganda din daw developments sa Iloilo in the recent decades. I've been to Cagayan De Oro and liked it there also.

Dati in my first field trip to Baguio in my student days pinangarap ko rin to establish myself there. Medyo mahina lang talaga ako sa sobrang lamig, and I found my dream job right after college here in the NCR. Alternative would probably be the outskirts of MM like the hills of Antipolo.

Pinagpaplanuhan yan.

Ako sukat na sukat ko na, antipolo si the best place yung padirecho going sun valley estates all the way to buso buso.

    - walang tollgate
    - ang tahimik everyday holyweek feel
    - from my true qc , 45 minutes - 1hour byahe to buso busso takbong puhgeee 40 to 60kph.
    - madami waterfalls katabi.
    - walang condominium. Chupiiiii bawal
    - madali ako bumalik ng true qc.
    - probinsya probinsya feel this part of antipolo very low density.

kaya at least once a year nag babakasyon kami sa Subic, just to unwind kahit weekends lang. balak na din namin mag invest na buy ng house duon or near sa Subic, in the near future.

I want El Nido also. Preferably in Papaya Beach (have to find it in google maps).....

    Its opposite marimegmeg beach.

Aside from the healthcare issue that was mentioned, it has PLDT fiber na in that area.

Id play Online games everyday, swim, kayak, chil, people watch, dive, fish, drive in country roads to other beaches in Palawan.

some place idyllic would be nice until the novelty wears off or until you realize that it takes an hour or more to drive just to get that mayonnaise you need for your recipe

A nice beach house in Nasugbu

Since I can work from home anyway, a beach house would be a nice place to live in. Its also good that its only 2 hours away from good hospitals in Muntinlupa.

Though it might get boring, there is only so much kayaking, jet-skiing, and jogging one can do.

My mentor at work did this. Moved to Punta Fuego during the pandemic and spent the lockdown there. He recently retired at 50, got a fat retirement check, and now lives his days learning to surf and dive and enjoys daily jogs on the beach with his wife and their dog.

Personally, I love being in the city and being less than 30 min away from anywhere (work, hospital, school, mall, etc).

My getaway of choice is Baguio though. Yes crowded during weekends and holidays, but it’s a joy to live there during weekdays. Perfect weather, lots of good food, very artisanal culture.

When I was still field-based, Baguio would be my favorite work destination. Nothing beats working outdoors in a coffee shop, then having a good meal in one of the many hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

I’m sure you can get an even better place, you make more than him bro. His place in Fuego isn’t super expensive naman. He sold his QC house for a BGC condo, and his kids are in their 20s na so self sufficient na rin.
