Shot the photo at greenhills. mag-ggym ako sa fitness nung napansin ko yung SiR rear-ended (literally kasi parehong puwitan nung kotse) a Honda Accord. and sabi nung guard galing pa sa kabilang block yung SiR. baka daw hindi naka-handbrake kaya umatras. sinilip ko, hindi nga. tapos inabangan ko may-ari nung SiR, girl. kaka-awa pareho...

    OUCH!

Depende sa tao yun. When I'm on level ground, I merely engage 1st gear and leave the handbrake down. Parating long distance yung trips ko, at nakakawarp (over time) ng rear brakes kung handbrake ka kaagad after turning off the car.

Really stupid to not put it in gear or pull up the handbrake without checking that the car won't move, though. Sayang pa naman, mukhang fresh na frest at stock pa ung SiR na yun. Stupid.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

eek. reminds me of the time na my mom put the pajero up sa incline sa garage namin para mapalinisan yung kotse. she forgot to put the handbrake up, ayun, umatras yung kotse.

    nabend yung gate.

until now, mejo tabingi yung gate, di na kinaya ng kakapalo ko using a large mallet.

tire cover yung pinaka-nagcontact sa gate, so no damage to the body, tumabingi lang ng onti yung tire carrier mount.

Wala bang cabin pics to show that the e-brakes were not engaged?

SOP din sakin handbrakes. Ok lang naman since the Pajero has dedicated brakes solely for the hand brakes (mini drums embedded in the rear discs). Nissan Patrols kick it up a notch by having a drum brake that brakes the propeller shaft (not the wheels).

nangyari na din sa kin to. medyo pataas kasi garage namin. sa sobrang inis ko dun sa boarder namin kasi yung external tv antenna nila nag-eextend na sa garage namin at medyo tatama na sa kotse when parking i must have forgotten to engage the handbrake. early morning the next day while putting my things in the car biglang umatras yung kotse, ang bilis. medyo inararo lang naman nya gate namin, ayun tanggal! kinaladkad pa ko kasi i had the front door open already & i was trying to reach for the foot or hand brake (o ha, feeling action star! wehehe), yung tapat na house kasi solid na semento yung bakod. luckily i was able to reach for the hand brake & the car stopped just a mere inch from the solid wall. grabeng experience yun, puro galos legs ko, wasak pa gate namin. napaka-thankful ko na lang at walang nagdadaan na tao o sasakyan at that time, & one of the rare moments din na d nakapark yung taxi ng mokong na kapitbahay namin sa tapat ng garahe. now when i get home lagi ko na chine-check kung na-engage ko yung handbrake, if i'm not sure talagang lumalabas pa ko kahit patulog na ko just to check. sobra hirap ng consequences pag nakalimutan e

hmmm...sayang both vehicles. i wonder if may vehicles na equipped with a warning if you turn off the ignition and leave the hand-brake disengaged...parang sa matic tranny of most modern vehicles, you can't turn the ignition on unless nasa park.
