March 26th, 2004 12:48 PM #2medyo masama ang employment conditions sa singapore since last year. di pa sila masyadong nakaka-recover. most singapore companies are shifting operations in china, india, malaysia or wherever its cheaper to do business. for example, citibank is now doing IT regional projects in shanghai.
ang balita ko sa UK daw maganda ang IT employment prospects. malayo lang sa Pinas kaya ayaw ko dun. anong line mo sa IT, SAP, peoplesoft, NT, MQ, etc?

March 26th, 2004 01:04 PM #3aba sama ako dyan... medyo masama nga raw ang status ng application sa singapore eh.. mostly sa UK but you have to be there first.. as in resident ka dun.. mas priority nila yun at karamihan eh kailangan marunong ka mag dutch ... pero one way ang UK pati ang NEW ZEALAND ...
san kaya ako pede??? Solaris/NT/2000 Internet Services like WEB/FTP/MAIL under iplanet/sendmail/qmail/exchange DNS etc...
baka may alam kayo ... tenks ....

March 26th, 2004 02:51 PM #4you can try applying for a job via an agency. then later on if the company you are assigned to decides to extend your contract or keep you longer, then that's the only time you can get a long-term/resident visa. they dont give u citizenship/immigrant status immediately.
or you can go to an immigration agency, get a citizenship, then look for a job in that country.
thats the normal way of going through it. unless you are lucky and find a company willing to sponsor your citizenship. but companies nowadays are non-commital & play it safe by asking you to be under contract. Then later on hopefully you can negotiate with them for a long-term employment.

March 26th, 2004 08:04 PM #11try the International Organization for Migration (www.iom.int) sa Citibank Tower sa Makati. UN funded na NGO to kaya mura lang singil nila sa consultation. P10k lang unlike yung mga for profit na immigration consultants.

aside from IT related jobs, anu pa ba pwede pasukan sa NEW ZEALAND... baka pwede din ako sumabit.... maski taga punas lang ng computer, para at least related parin sa IT (wink)

March 29th, 2004 11:50 AM #16ayos may taga punas na ng computer , ako naman taga pahid ng cleaner protector---ano ba yan wala palang pakinabang yrs of studies and experience ntin sa IT d2 sa pinas. anyway basta maganda sweldo punas lang ng punas hindi pa mentally draining. sabit sabit nalang!
