Just heard it on a radio.

Hahaha.

Manila Police District director Chief Superintendent Rolando Asuncion , sana po patuloy nyong linisin ang ating kapulisan. Kudos!

I also hope no one tries to cross him so he can do what needs to be done. The problem with a lot of these policemen is that they usually have a backer who they would run to.

21 cops sacked for messy precinct, sleeping on the job

MANILA - The newly-appointed Manila Police District (MPD) Director sacked 21 police officers assigned to the Barbosa Police Community Precinct in Quiapo after a surprise inspection on Wednesday.

Barbosa PCP commander Chief Insp. Joselito De Sesto, Deputy Insp. Joel Guimpatan and 19 other policemen were relieved of their duties after MPD Chief Superintendent Rolando Asuncion caught some of them sleeping during work hours inside a messy and dirty police station.

According to Asuncion, he was on his way to his office when he decided to visit Barbosa PCP to inspect the police.

He pretended to be a civilian who will file a police blotter but the "sarhento de mesa" did not recognize him.

Asuncion saw that there were some policemen who were sleeping, and there were ash trays and empty bottles scattered on the floor.

He took a video of the office using his cellphone.

One of the policeman noticed what he was doing and confronted him, which led him to finally introduce himself.

Sr. Insp. Alden Panganiban has been appointed as the new Barbosa PCP commander while those who were sacked were assigned to the Public Safety Batallion. -- report from DZMM

Isn't that too harsh a punishment? They could have been given suspension first?

baka kasi yung kundisyon at mga ginagawa ng mga pulis doon e hindi naging kaaya-aya kay MPD director, kung baga e wala nang first offense...imagine also on the other side as a civilian, paano kung kailangan mo ng tulong dahil may papatay sa iyo, tapos yung pulis e natutulog..

    good job for the director.

If only he did it silently, like going from precint after precint... he would have fired a lot of mpd policemen

    enjot it while it lasts.
