may tanong lng ako. may thesis kc kami. e ung thesis namin e mobile chating. so kailangan namin ng gprs connection. sabi nung prof namin nde raw basta2 makaconect sa gprs ung application namin. kelangan pa daw sabihin sa mga telco kung papayagan nilang mag connect ung app namin. ganon ba un? ang alam ko kc e nagbloblock lng sila ng mga site diba?

June 24th, 2004 08:08 AM #5hindi naman nila yata kelangan ng wap sites. ang kelangan lang nila is magkita yung apps nila through gprs. si bogart and mugen din ata taga telco, pero nag resigne na ata si mugen.

June 24th, 2004 11:18 AM #6Flakez, as much as i would like to help you out, tama ang prof mo. Napakahigpit ng security namin sa GPRS, there's like a 0% chance na pwede.
Within our company nga, limited lang ang pwedeng mag access nito for testing purposes.... luckily, my job allows me to be one of them hehe.
But do keep it up! Like I always say, mobile programming is the way to go! Sorry i cant be of more help though. Why dont you try WAP based apps instead and test them via emulator na lang.
Nokia has a lot of freeware to help you with these types of projects.

June 24th, 2004 11:28 AM #7I dont get it? You need GPRS connection to access your site and see how it looks like while being viewed thru Mobile Phones or PDA's? Is that what you want to do?
If yes, you dont need TELCO permission. SMART WAP-GPRS subscribers can access the internet (unrestricted) . All you need is money (pay for your GPRS sessions).

ang hirap pala talaga non. may ka batch kasi kami na pinayagan daw e. sana payagan din kami. kahit 3 months lang. hehe. ok sana kung wap based e. pero wala akong maisip. saka marami na yatang gumawa sa amin ng ganon. un na lang kulang namin e. ung sa connection sa gprs tapos maaprove na ung thesis namin.
kung pwede sanang sa emulator na lang wala kaming problema. kaso kelangan daw talaga ung product e. as in running sa mga phones. tsk tsk.

June 25th, 2004 01:10 AM #11fLaKeZ, mas mahihirapan na kayo to request special access to gprs from telcos ngayon. medyo over utilized na yata ang gprs nila. siguro sa sun cellular baka pwede pa. gawa kayo ng proposal sa kanila, padala mo nalang ke pajerokid or mazdamazda. lagay nyo sa proposal yung project nyo, tapos bigyan nyo nalang sila ng exclusive right to include your program into their services kapag naging successful. pero syempre dapat meron royalty. tapos ambunan mo nalang kami dito ;)

yung isa kong kakilala dito - he started out as an OJT, siya yung gumagawa ng isang part ng website of suncellular. try ninyong ganung approach.
pero kayla PK nga dapat ibigay ang ganyang mga proposal. sila may hawak kasi niyan.

In fact meron na kaming software na nagiintegrate ng vaious chat apps like yahoo, msn etc tapos merong mobile client. fully functioning na.

okay to! kala ng friends mo you're online with a pc but you're not! just your cell! i could even send pictures. FREE.
i've been using this upto 2nd week of june. For FREE!! too bad Globe also blocked this already. but postpaid subcribers can still connect but have to pay .25cents/KB. relatively cheap!
smart users can also connect. pero sa MSN lang. ayaw sa yahoo eh. dont know why...
never tried it on SUN before...
then there's another one. COMOBI.
it uses gprs also to connect 2 cellphones using IPports.
pwede mag file transfer, pwede rin mag 2way radio calls.... FREE!
but i dont know kung blocked na to ng GLobe.
