    janitor.. security guard.. sales staff.. some form of accounting..

    swerte nga ni pasay naisipan ni henry sy magtayo jan ng mall. Jan nadale si glorietta naglipatan tao kay mall of asia hanggang si cavite jan ang punta.

    harrison plaza parang napuntahan ko yan maybe twice thrice basta elementary days.

    parang SM Light / SM Jazz daw tatayo dyan.. bigger baka 4 to 6 towers.. then mall / cinemas sa baba..

    kasama yung open parking 7 hectares yata lahat yan..

    mukhang pinataas lang ang presyo nung lupa tapos they cashed in.. kaya walang maintenance na ginawa.. for life na yan di na nila mauubos yun..

    back in the day, the fil-chi magnate's kids would ride the jeepney and bus like any ordinary teen-ager.

    the daugher of a business magnate who owned a bus line, was our teacher. she would commute like everyone else.

    nag-kuwento siya,
    she had been waiting for some time for a ride home.
    it was rush hour, but... what the heck! takbo siya at naka-tsamba't naka-siko sa estribo. yes, walang kasarian ang commuter those days.
    just then, a couple of their empty buses whizzes past, on the way to the garahe (their home).

    Ilan ang heirs. Kaya ubusin ng one generation yan. Bahay pa lang in a good area 9 digits na, cars, lifestyle etc. Siguro hanggang anak ng gen na mag cash in, pero sa apo wala na siguro.

    The land was leased from the Manila City Government. Lease was to end in 2021. I guess SM offered the Martels a price they couldn't refuse to end the lease earlier...

    It is ironic that the people behind this mall, the Martels who happen to be the ones behind the high society magazine Philippine Tatler could not bother to give even a tinge of class in the mall itself. Then again, maybe they don’t seem to really care about it anymore. Not to mention there are reports that the Martels are being cheapskates with their rental payments to the city government, denying some additional revenue the city direly needs at the moment.

    rich kids are always surrounded by opportunists

    magaling ang mga opportunists they can convince rich kids to invest is so-and-so business ventures tapos malulugi lang

    so what happens after 2021? balik sa Manila government? So bakit pa nila babayaran ang mga Martels?
