hey you guys working in ortigas... can anybody confirm the news na nagkaroon daw ng maliit na tornada dito yesterday. yes, complete with funnel shaped formation daw.
kasi around 1pm yesterday pagtingin ko sa labas ng window eh horizontal yung ulan eh. siguro nasa 15-20 degrees yung angle ng rain sa lakas ng wind.
happened once din in the late 80's ata yun. sa may laguna de bay. umuulan daw ng isda nun since sa lake nag-form yung funnel. medyo freaky yung weather nun, i remember nag hail din (yes, solid ice raining) sa area namin sa laguna, pero sandali lang.
i saw this on the late news last night.
the video of the mini-twister was taken at the ortigas center.
destruction at a residential area somewhere in libis/eastwood area was reported.
months ago sa southwoods na news, na-tornado daw sila. some parked cars/SUV's got pinned down ng malalaking puno sa southwoods
By the way, the "Buhawi" or minitornado that hit Carmona, Cavite last Wednesday noon was a "freak" but it showed us how unpredictable and how furious nature can be.
It struck the area where the plush Southwoods Golf & Country Club is located and the wind force was so strong, full grown trees in its path were immediately uprooted and slammed against some 27 vehicles parked near the clubhouse. It also flung several startled golfers and their caddies several meters before disappearing.
My "compadre," Lino Barte was playing golf at Southwoods but luckily for him, he had just finished his round and was in the clubhouse when the tornado hit. None of the vehicles parked had their drivers sleeping in them, so no one was reported crushed by the trees. This incident should remind drivers not to violate their masters’ rule of not sleeping inside the vehicles. A driver asleep inside the vehicle also invites carnappers.
