I notice that in Gateway and Farmers Cubao, most of their rest room have pay before you can use it.... But the one i tried is at gateway and they have listerine, jergens lotion, alcohol, toothpic at the desktop counter for evryone to use...

Is this alright with you to pay P10 jsut to use it??

I guess they should provide free and pay lounges. Just to give the customer a choice.

Kung puro pay iyan, baka sa pader na lang magsi-ihi ang mga customer.

Sa Gateway nasa pinakataas ng building yung free CR.

But what would be the difference between the free and pay lounges?

Free - dirty? Pay - clean?

Otherwise why pay when you have access to clean restrooms?

Note though the National Building Code requires public facilities to provide adequate restrooms. But then again it also requires public facilities to provide adequate parking spaces. Which public building owners do - for a fee. Following the logic, I guess it won't be long before all restrooms will start charging entrance fees. And mall stairwells and obscure spots will have "Bawal Umihi Dito" signs.

Yup. Dapat ganito, so the buying (or malling) public has a choice. If I just had to do a #1, i'd probably just opt for the free lounge. But for a #2, the pay lounge will come in handy

Yun ang problema eh, hindi nga lahat maintained.

I don't have a problem with this, pero pag kelangan mo na talaga gumamit, titigil ka pa't magbabayad??? Yun lang conflict na nakikita ko. Hindi lahat ng tao may baryang handa sa bulsa.

I don't have any problem, either, with the "pay before you use" system. Since, I haven't experience yet, yung, if you don't have P10, at kung "kelangan" mo na talaga, it means ba na di ka nila talaga pagagamitin ng CR? This is cruel....

depends on 2 factors i suppose.

    1. need. when you got to go you got to go! for someone with a bum stomach P10 is way cheaper than having to buy new pants and underwear, not to mention the shame ehehehehe! and this is assuming you will have someone with you to send go buy a pair of cheap jeans and underwear. paano pag wala?

    2. hygiene and convenience. how many times, especially for the women, that you go into a cubicle and find it filthy. or worse someone before you failed to flush because there is no water and left his memories swimming in that little golden pond, staring you in the eye and offending your senses (primarily your sense of smell!)

P10 is cheap. if you can afford to give P50 as tip to the waiter that served you that lunch that caused your bum stomach, then you can afford to pay p10 to the guy who keeps the toilet clean where the lunch eventually goes ehehehehe!

I fully agree. It costs money to maintain decent comfort rooms. We are even willing to shell out parking fees at malls' parking areas where carnappings can happen or a term and condition explicitly assumed by the car park patrons.

We are also aware of certain groups, families, or people purposely use the mall toilets because they do not have toilets at home! Shocking? Not really. It is the reality.

hmmm, sa akin hindi. it should be part of the facilities which are provided by the mall owner. kasi naturally, people use restrooms while in the area because they eat and drink....

    WBR,
Here in South MM, ATC has these.

Sa akin ayos lang iyan, especially during 'emergencies'. Haven't been in one although I should say that I'll most probably use one in the future. My son did some months back.

I agree with one of the previous posts (by kiatsy) that some are using the mall toilets as their family or personal toilet, so its really hard to maintain most of them.

At least you have a choice, especially during this season when everyone's going out to eat and celebrate.... It is better right?

I prefer the big "Kleenex" packs, as there's enough in there to do the business. The small, pocket-sized packs have sheets that are too small... kinda, erh... hard to keep your hands clean while cleaning up...

    ----

*oldblue: How true... I've been going to Araneta Center regularly for the past twelve years, and the CRs in the more "pedestrian" areas are damn scary. Since my wife's family house isn't that far away, whenever she needed to go, or whenever I needed to go, we'd just go home.

Heck, kahit sa "secret" CRs sa National, where not so many, errh... "jologs" people hang out... you still couldn't sit down.

Gateway may be an A+B market place, but a lot of foot traffic goes through there, and they really need to assure the cleanliness of their CRs. And, if you don't like paying, you can always go over to Farmer's to use theirs. Or National.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Considering how some people explode their lunch and leave a mess afterwards, I'm all for it. But by the same token.... If I'm paying for it, I expect the toilet to be clean and flushable with plenty of toilet paper plus a force cup just in case my load's too big to flush down.

Kapag sa SM Malls malinis yung CR sa basement. Usually dun sa mga curtains, glasswares, etc. Basta yung boring part ng mall. hehehe.

Pero wala pa din tissue (baka pwede na yung mga display na kurtina).
