We're supporting this ordinance.

"The Quezon City Council approved on second reading recently an ordinance requiring all cinemas in the city to have a theater that exclusively screens movies with subtitles for the benefit of Deaf people," reports Jeannette I. Andrade in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In the draft ordinance authored by Councilor Alexis Herrera of the first district, PHP5,000 fine is suggested for movie house owners in Quezon City who fail to operate a theater showing movies with subtitles.

So... what if you have a single screen and no current movies come with subtitles?

Not to nit pick, but closed captioning is to deaf as subtitles is to those who can hear.

Either can be distracting to most viewers. I would think that these might keep both types of crowd happy.

At least separate sa regular viewers. Pwede naman siguro imbes na separate theater e special screening na lang, kahit once per week.

baka mas ok pa ung meron nag sign language sa gilid ng screen.
