This happened on March 17. Kellsye Fabian is a friend of mine and my batchmate in high school. This incident that happened to her is so unfortunate. Please be careful at all times.

Suspected robbers kill student inside UP Diliman

Suspected robbers stabbed and killed a student of the University of the Philippines inside the Diliman campus in Quezon City late Thursday, it was learned Friday.

Police said victim Merwin Mendoza, 21, a BS Geological Science senior, was escorting his girlfriend Keleyse Fabian when three suspects approached them near Palma Hall at 9 p.m.

The suspects, Rodolfo Balais, an alleged member of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang, Jericho Conde and Mark Aspiras, stabbed Mendoza in the chest and ran off with Fabian's hand bag, police said.

Mendoza was rushed to the UP Infirmary Building where he died minutes later.

Campus security later arrested Balais and Conde and recovered Fabian's mobile phone and P490 cash.

Authorities also picked up Aspiras at Old Balara near the campus, but he denied knowledge of the incident. Conde, however, identified Aspiras as the third member of their group who killed Mendoza.

The three are facing robbery-homicide charges.

Something like this was bound to happen. i know since i took 2 graduate courses already at UP diliman and it can get so very dark and isolated there at night. Aside from that, squatters have invaded the outskirts of UP diliman and along with it, the bad elements that always seem to accompany them.
