Tiles have to lay flat or they'll be prone to cracking. A simple test after tile installation is to tap on each tile with an umbrella. If there is a hollow sound, the tile will crack sooner or later and should be repaired before turnover. Ceramic tiles need adhesive as theyre too light.

Ideally, the substrate should relatively be flat enough. That's why you use the thin set mortar(that's what it is called) using a notched trowel ( usually 1/4-3/8) of an inch to give the leveling effect of the fluid mortar until it cures. It also allows workability to make adjustments during the fluid state of the mortar. How you do yours is your choice.

Kung hindi, mag concrete toping ka, which is kailangan mo ng cement at sand material na madadagdag sa budget mo.

January 20th, 2016 04:02 PM #616salamat po sa mga inputs nyo sa BOM.. i'll check it to our contractor.
bale ang contract po kc namin is fix per square meter. sila na bahala sa lahat from start, materials, labor, up to finishing. May nabasa rin kc ako sa ibang thread about naman sa asphalt shingles roofing na dapat 3/4" daw ang thickness ng marine plywood and when I checked my BOM, 1/2" lang ang nakalagay so I will clarify it also.
kung meron pa po kayo additional inputs sa BOM it will help me a lot.
TIA

Everthing boils down to how good and meticulous the person who is doing the actual job and the quality of materials. There are a lot of inferior/fake materials nowadays. Just visit everyday.
