Unless the doctor is a friend, I have yet to experience a doctor being on time for his/her clinic hours or even for an appointment. Ok lang to wait in line as long as the doctor is already attending to other patients in his clinic, but waiting in line without knowing when the doctor will be at his clinic is so frustrating.

From my experience, the doctors we know usually do their rounds before their clinic hours. Time for this can vary depending on the number of patients they have to see then when they get back to their clinic, they take down notes and sometimes go over the records of the patients lined up. In my case though, marami talagang patients yung regular docs namin (pedia and OB) and they don't take appointments, lista-pila talaga. Yung dentist, by appointment and they're there the whole day pretty much so walang waiting time unless nag OT yung patient before me.

Some of them came from another hospital, maybe they have 10 or 20 patients lined up there, or like my doctor last week, my appointment was 9am, he came down up from the operating room past lunch time, his surgery started 7am, i didnt complain, what a thankless job

Surely patients will understand pero yun sa gumawa ng diyos na never dumating ng on time sa clinic hours na mga doctors ang mga gungong

Like my mom supposedly standard na opereting time niya for her procedure is 3-4 hours pero umabot ng 10 hours.

I really have no patience sa mga ganyan doctors.

Kaya I really took the time to look for a new surgeon for my mom for her second procedure dahil yun unang surgeon ganyan style. I don't care if siya unang nag operate na. Mas magaling na sobrang professional pa kahit during the procedure.

That's not the point. If na extend and procedure Walang problema yun. The problem is kung regular na ganun ang doctor kahit Walang procedure late lang talaga dumating sa clinic.

    Different doctors.Different reasons.

We have this very popular local doctor. Daily 8-6pm dun sa mejo mahal na ospital. Then 6pm-8pm yung charity clinic niya sa ibang pwesto naman. Nag-try ako magpalista after office (around5:30pm).

BUT there are doctors out there na pa-primadona talaga. itataga ko sa bato. not to mention being late na, masungit pa

There were times na 9-12am ang clinic hours, dadating ka ng before 9am para mauna sa pila (pero most of the time marami na rin nakapila), tapos almost 12 na tsaka palang darating ang doctor. Nakakasira plano sa buong araw, knowing na by 12pm dapat tapos ka na, pero by 1pm pa ang turn mo. Gugutumin ka na, macancel mo pa ibang gagawin mo for the day.

Recently lang we transferred to a different surgeon fr my mom because yun unang nagopera sa kaya eh ganyan style. Sobrang tagal dumating.

If their patients can wake up early and take the time to go to their clinic meron pang sakit mga yun the least they can do is be on time.

i have an uncle who is a heart surgeon. minsan nagpupunta kami sa kanya dahil sya din ang family doctor namin.
his clinic is limited lang sa UPH Las Pinas. 10 am - 12nn, but he also teaches dun sa medical school dun. Most of the time, lumalabas ng 10-1030 and he has to make rounds pa, so minsan nakakaakyat na ng around 1130. pag akyat nya, mahaba na pila. so umuuwi ako minsan without seeing him, but just visits him at home. pag home naman, sunday afternoon lang, for he spends his morning playing tennis.

8 am - 5 pm. she spends most of her week sa st. lukes and makati med. pag dating namin sa clinic nya, kahaba ng pila.

My friend arrived at MMC before 2 pm (the doctor's start of clinic hours) The doctor arrived at 3:30 pm. It's 4:30 pm and until now my friend is still waiting . Ako yung naiinis para sa kanya

    personally,
i hate it when my patients have to wait for me.
it means, i can't go home on time, and relish what else life has to offer me.
    heh heh.

I also had those sentiments before. It all changed when I somehow observed the day-in-the-life of my son's doctor.

While my son was confined, i can tell that his doctor barely had any time to sleep as she was constantly making rounds to her patients in one hospital, or traveling to another hospital to do the same.... whether it's 2PM or 2AM, she would just show up to check on my son. She would also spend time conferring with other doctors or associates for particularly difficult cases. I mean, 24 hours is simply not enough for them.

In one particular instance, my son was in a rather bad state after a surgery. His doctor stayed with us for over 2 hours until he stabilized. I would think that the next patient would've been fuming mad.

On top of that, she also conducts clinic hours a few days in a week, which usually takes place after making her morning rounds. It was my pet peeve before that when she was late, I would start questioning in my head why we even needed to book a slot if she couldn't even follow her own schedule. Well, now I know why she's been late this whole time.

I think this may be due to the very large deficit in the number of medical practitioners in-country... particularly specialist doctors.
