if you format....all will be gone!

maybe a firmware upgrade is all it needs!

*try attaching the HD to an external box. and find it in my computer.

*try attaching the HD as a slave to another PC with a different OS. (if it is not recognized now on a certain OS...try it on another OS, an older one. say Win2000 or Win98)

the point here is: baka the drive was formatted previously on FAT32. and the current OS only recognizes NTFS or vice versa.

    just my 2 plastic centavos...

tama baka iba lang yung file system type nung hard disk kaya sinasabi nya hindi formatted. baka na format yan using NTFS. you need to slave the disk into a Windows 2000 box. don't format it yet sayang MP3's mo.

    salamat.

Yes..thats the right decision. Get a new backup HD then try to install windows OS on it, then try to retrieve your data files from your mp3 HD using Windows client or in DOS mode. Then you can save it to the new HD, then format the old
HD. You should have wrote a cd backup for each of your mp3 files for backup purposes. Also, try to have atleast 2 to 3 HD with Windows OS installed on all HD so you can swap it vis-a-vis when something goes wrong with the operating HD.
Remember..."An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

    I hope this helps......
