Questions, projects and discussions on DIY

Labor is so expensive nowadays! It's also great to learn a new skill

    ... carpentry... masonry... welding... gardening...

but the initial equipment splurge is... kinda price-y, depending on the brand.

My father-in-law is a tinkerer (has its advantages and disadvantages) and he has a reasonably complete set of tools. He even has his own arc welder.

    My DIY list:
    - drilling holes in concrete walls for frames and decorations
    - puttying and repainting holes in concrete walls when interior decorator changed her mind after a few hours
    - declogging
    - minor leaks
    - soldering cables victimized by puppies
    - assembling flat pack furniture
    - diagnosing and cleaning home appliances.
    - minor computer hardware and software problems
    - minor car jobs like cleaning, changing filters, replacing bulbs, entertainment software upgrades for the Mazda

I used to rotate my cars' tires with the tools provided in the car and an hour of time. Don't want to do it anymore after I got light-headed halfway through my last rotation a few years ago.

YouTube is a very good source of info.

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

Why not rotate tires while car's on the lift during oil changes? I always grab that chance.[emoji4]

Jacks can fail. If you'll be working for a prolonged amount of time under the car, best to use jack stands for safety.

If you don't have jack stands at least place 2 of your wheels under the door sills of both sides just so you have a small layer of safety.

Kung patong sa bakod gaya sa second pic, pagawa ka nung pole with base plate then drill holes and bolted sa ibabaw.

O kaya a separate pole with concrete foundation.

Anong mas madali yung patongsa bakod or yung from ground? Next problem ko kasi wala kaming mataas na hagdan kaya pag nakabit na yung pole, pano ikakabit solar [emoji23]

Eto mukhang mura lang gawin, manipis lang pole tapos from ground

if you have enough metal on your fence,
you can clamp the pole holding the light to it.
welding also works, but... it's welding.

if you do not have enough metal,
you can clamp the pole onto the concrete fence.

or you can anchor the pole to the ground.
but this will entail a concrete root.
and it wouldn't be easy to remove later, should you wish to remove it.

the possibilities are limited only by one's imagination.

I want the easiest and cheapest haha! I will scrap from ground na lang. I think best na nga to patong sa bakod (will use less metal pa) Nat trauma na ko dito sa mga trabajador, yung baliktad kinabit yung lock ng gate, buti na lang grill kaya pwede isuot kamay. It will be the same guys again

Hiya lang ako ikabit sa bakod ng neighbor namin, okay sana pero masisira vista ng bakod nila and I want to avoid asking a favor as much as I can
