To answer your question, Absolutely not. N-O. Never.

My Mom and Aunts recently went to a second hand furniture store in the province. My Mom told me she was interested in buying some pieces. I advised against it. Most especially don't buy second hand mirrors because mirrors are believed to be a portal to the spirit world. It could absorb the energy of the previous owner. And if that is bad energy... I am very wary of mirrors and I even had the one in my room covered.

My lola also has superstitions of not buying properties that were foreclosed or had a bad history (baka ma mana daw yung malas ng owner). But I do know that some people made it big buying foreclosed properties. When a car gets into a major accident, we sell it afterwards believing that it is malas na.

Yung mga kinakatukutan nyo eh pre-modern times pa. Mga panahon ng mga lolo at lola natin na kailangan daw magsuot sa leeg ng bawang gawin kwintas para matakot ang mga unseen forces. Some kailangan maglagay ng toyo at suka pero iipisin ka naman. Dati nga once a year lang naliligo ang mga hari.

Ang dark history magiging careful ako yung mga naremata ng bangko dahil malaki probabilty nilaspag ng previous owner yung kotse or bahay. Hindi dahil may moo-moo or sumisitsit.

superstition and myth go hand in hand. in the u.s. and the philippines, there are no 13th floor of a building nor 13th row in an airplane, but in most of europe there are 13ths. i used to try to get spooked on friday the 13th on 13ths street in andersen air force base deep in the jungle all by myself. i only got bored waiting for something to happen.

May house din sa area namin na ganyan. Walang tumatagal, either may nagkakasakit or namamatay. I believe the bad luck can still be broken though.

Hindi ka naniniwala sa spirits? My cousin's cousin committed suicide at their house by hanging himself. That is the same house where the patriarch went mental and isolated himself in his room for decades. When the matriarch died, all the children and apos moved out kasi nagpaparamdam daw yung nag suicide. I wouldn't purchase a house na may ganun history :nerves:
