9 plunder, graft cases vs GMA ally Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson have been pending at the Ombudsman, including one for more than P500 million. And to think Iloilo Gov. Tupas was suspended over an alleged P85,000. deal. - source: Inquirer newspaper

talaga hahahaha. yun gulo sa Iloilo dahil lang sa Php 85k na kalokohan

when that governor was being interviewed on ABS, kala ko maluwag ang turnilyo nun eh. he was answering/talking in a speech tone ala 60's. i thought something was a bit off sa image nya.

medyo naawa na ako sa kanya ngaun ah. para kasing lolo.

85k lang??? and binasag yung glass doors, tinutukan, tinulak sila ng SWAT??

yung si Chavit, malabo yan ilaglag sa ngayon (if ever they will), high stake card yan eh. You know it goes.

well, during interviews about this case with Gov. Tupas, they keep on stressing that it's not the amount but the action. Singkong duling or milyones man ang involved, corruption pa rin...

looks like may kumakalabit sa likod ni L.Justice.

actually hinde nga yata overpricing eh, parang meron particular project na hinde natuloy so sa ibang project nagamit yun 25k, so technically malversation of funds yata...but the point is hinde ninakaw....

unlike chavit singson, bukod sa jueteng lord eh smuggler pa....but then since he's an ally of the admin, parang siya na ang pinaka honest na tao sa buong mundo...

with his money (tons of it)......he can even be an ally of the next administration in 2010......whether they are a pro or against of this current admin........

Well, you can't get them all... but at least the Ombudsman is trying.

And by the way, Tupas is aligned with the administration (and so did the other suspended politicians like Gov. Sanchez of Batanggas).

Stating that Chavit is an "ally" of the administration while conveniently ommitting that Tupas & co. are also administration allies is so typical of the Inquirer.

Be that as it may, Tupas may have been just another dispensable card. In politics, there are no friends nor allies, only things you can step on to achieve a higher position. In some cases, foot soldiers you can sacrifice in the heat of the battle.

is the ombudsman really trying or are they just selective on who should be suspended/dismissed?

tupaz used to be aligned with the admin, but then he followed the drilon faction in liberal party, and we all know that drilon asked the resgination of GMA..and he's very close to drilon, so there's your answer...and they were saying that it was sec of injustice gonzales who was all behind these... now whose closer to GMA the gonzalez, who give orders albeit illigel ones just to protect GMA or tupaz who followed drilon? the way the polices uses exscessive force when they entered the capitol, why didn't they do it in makati before, takot ba sila dahil si binay ang mayor???

as for sanchez I don't know what party he belongs to but he's one of the bitter rivals of the recto's and we all know where the recto's allign with...

maliksi? yes he's with the atienza wing in liberal, but again he's againts the revillas, again we all know where thay are align with...

bong revilla and ralph recto are senators, GMA needs them more than she needs sanchez and maliksi, especiallt now that her own term is in danger she needs more allies in the congress, bec I'm sure after the election another rounds of impeachement will be filed, the dismissed and suspended executive officers are collateral damages..

if the ombudsman is really serious, they should filed even just one case to a politician who is really align with GMA, nani perez you might say, what supposed to be a plunder was downgrader to just a bribery case....it's just all show, for the election....reason of the ombudsman? it's bec it only happened once and not a series of corruptions, even though that the money was over P50M, so it means if I'm a politician when I steal money make the amount big and do it once para hinde plunder yun....so tip na yan sa mga bagong politician...
