Hi tsikoteers, just want to get inputs from garden/landscape fans here.

We decided to first plant grass in our small yard so that we will not be pressured to pick from ready designs, we will just pick out plants in our own time.

My problem is my wife doesn't want any of the available grass types here, i.e. bermuda, bluegrass, frog grass and carabao grass. She wants zoysia, and it can only be bought as seeds from China thru Lazada.

So our plan is to plant either bermuda or bluegrass in a portion, while waiting for the seeds. I was just thinking now whether the zoysia looks the same as the aforementioned two when they are well trimmed/manicured.

Any tips for us, sirs/mams [emoji4]

we once attempted manicuring our yard.
what i learned about some grasses.
they require good sunlight to thrive.
those areas of sand under some trees in some manicured yards, aren't there for show. those are where the grass don't grow well.
    good luck, po.

literature says zoysia grass tolerates shade.

Thanks Bros, we may use Bermuda at the front where it really gets hot in the afternoon sun, the zoysia at the side window certain areas get shady depending on the time of year.

same thing happened to us. I insisted bermuda on the perimeter of our house where it's shady and it died. Ended up wasting money.

Our bermuda died na (except the that in front/outside our house), I was able to find a photo when I took of a photo of the rat that we caught in our house LOL

If I have that big of a lawn, I will put a putting green in there and I have enough space to pitch from the fringes.

Don’t worry, bro. Kung may inuman dyan, hindi clubs dadalhin ko but booze. Pero sa ganda ng grass na yan, baka puwede ako mag putt lang para walang divots.
