First Gentleman orders libel raps withdrawn, seeks peace

MANILA, Philippines -- First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo has instructed his lawyers to withdraw all libel suits pending in courts, “taking in a genuine chance to make peace,” Malacañang has said.
Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye read the statement from the First Gentleman to media Thursday.
In the letter, the First Gentleman also thanked his doctors, friends, and his family, especially President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for their support.
