One of the temples of one of my better pairs of eyeglasses got broken on where it screws on the lens frame.

Hard for me to replace the temple since it is flex-hinged... And when I approached optical shops,- they're recommending to replace the eyeglass frame and resize the lens... Because of my eye-condition, the lens are expensive, too... whew! ...

I am afraid if they resize the lenses to fit the new frames,- they will miss the alignment and the eyeglasses will practically be useless...

Near sighted.....Lenses are progressive + transition + very heavy on grade and astigmatism....

Let's just say that without my eyeglasses, everything looks real fuzzy....😉

Agree with your concern that if they adjust the size of your existing lens to fit a new frame, the center might get misaligned and the progressives won't work properly. Better make sure that the optical shop will guarantee their work if that's the case.

How cheap is it in Quiapo? Like Mr Big says 14k for progressive and transition lens only. Owndays price their progressive and transition at 5k each in addition to the basic 3k-8k single vision frame and lens basic pack. Will the savings be significant for say someone from the south going to quiapo 2x (since progressives can't be done in a day) vs buying it at their suking mall?

I availed of the 8k progressive and transition carl zeiss lens from The Optical Shop and it was a disappointment. It had narrow vision and extreme distortion. So I was hesitant to ever try progressives again, to my surprise this morning, i tried my wife's glasses and it was very easy to adapt to, I can move my eyes sideways and vertically with ease and minimal distortion. I forgot the name of the shop but ita was Vision something (not express) but the lens cost 17k, progressive, ultra thin but not transition.

Owndays has cheap quality lenses. Not even multicoated that's why it gets scratched easily. That's also why it's cheap in guise of "Japanese brand". Maganda Lang itsura ng ships nila since open-style and try all u want ang frames

It says in their brochure that "all lenses have hard & scratch resistant coating/anti-reflection" also "Ultra Thin Lenses (1.60) to Ultra Ultra Thin Lenses (1.67) for no additional fee, in spite of the high degree."

So does this make it competitive with Quiapo shops now?
