    Hello Everyone,

Just want to get your opinion, we are planning to buy a 2nd hand fortuner, target model is 2006 or 2007 fortuner A/T gas, since this is our first time to get a RWD, A/T and SUV..what are the pros and cons with this? aside from fuel consumption..how the maintenance? aside from changing engine oil, i heard that A/T change their oil as well, and also i heard that RWD car need oil change from the differential as well, aside from that what else we need to look at?

    Hope to get your opinion.

    TIA

Basta sa second hand, standard practice is to change all fluids... Check for abnormalities na rin.

i am curious... why gas and not diesel?
yes, differential oil and AT fluid have to be replaced periodically, but it doesn't happen too often. so don't worry about it too much.

Whether it's a gas or diesel, pag second hand reliability really depends on how the previous owner maintained the car.

Naisip ko lang. Which will you prefer?

Same year and model yung sasakyan.

High mileage pero mostly highway / long drive driven

Low mileage but city driving ginamit yung oto?

Difference is 50k km in mileage of the two cars.

I'll take the low mileage city drive. Highway high mileage usually entails suspension work, 80k maintenance of timing belt and seals, heavier use of breaks, etc. City drive kasi hindi masyado strained engine and wala masyado play ng suspension.

In the end depende pa rin sa maintenance ng seller.

Would choose the high mileage highway driven as long as it is well maintained.

Me too, I'd rather pick a high mileage car that's always driven on the highway than a low mileage car that's always stuck in traffic.

When we were buying a pick-up for our farm before, i looked at an L200 that was high mileage but driven on the highway often (maybe around 160,000kms on the odo); the engine ran much smoother then the city driven pick-ups i looked at. It also helps that the owner maintained his engine properly.
