Being doubtful of STDs should only apply for one night stands, fck buddies or casual ***. There must be something wrong if you are in a loving relationship and you doubt if the person has STD I am against premarital *** but I can say with finality that all ex BFs are STD free. I can also say the same for crush.

That's exactly the sort of reckless presumption uls and I were talking about Cath. Remember when you sleep with someone, it's like you're sleeping with everyone that person has ever slept with.

And it's also true, what ssaloon said. You can get STDs from other sources. And some of these STDs, they don't go away. You have to live with them for life if you get them.

Then you break up with the partner you got it from. Imagine having to explain to your next partner that you have something that he/she will probably get permanently as well. And there's also a risk your future children might get it too. I imagine that will kill the mood a thousand times more than a simple blood test for STDs.

The safest way is to treat everyone as infected. The STD tests are the only way to determine if a person is safe.

I wouldn't take it personally if someone I liked asked me for one. I'd even take it myself just to be sure.

Some STDs like Hepatitis can be contracted through blood transfusions or saliva. A lot of people are asymptomatic so they really don't know they are infected until their loved ones get the symptoms.

They should come up with a different label than STD because it gives the impression they can only be transmitted ***ually.
