Good thing no one takes interest in my old beater. I can't even have it valet-parked because the valet does not know how to operate the heater [for the diesel engine] and where reverse gear is on the 4 speed manual (its to the left and forward).

Reminds me of my old Cortina. Dang, I miss that car! Reverse is also left-forward, but the twist is you have to push down on the stick at neutral before it will even go left! Nobody could drive that car but me. Sige na nga, me and my dad.

I don't trust valets. Just point me to a vacant space, or let me wait in line until one becomes available, and I'll park the car myself.

I just tell the guards where they can find me, in case they have to move the car out of the way for someone else.
