Reciprocal yata ang laws, so if one can drive in the US with a valid Philippine license, as long as it is valid, anyone with a US driver's license can also drive there. I guess it varies with your country of origin. I wouldn't risk having RHD drivers just going out there.

AFAIK, they can drive in the Philippines for 60 days with their local license. If they have an international license, then I think there's no limit in the number of days.
how do you get an international license?
i also read in an AAP brochure that the membership card is recognized in the US, and thus you can use it as a temporary license

If you are from another country and visiting Ontario for more than three months, you need an International Driver's Permit from your own country or you may have to apply for an Ontario driver's licence, depending on your length of stay. If you are a new resident in Ontario and have a valid driver's licence from another province, state or country, you can use it for up to 60 days after you move to Ontario. If you want to keep driving in Ontario, you must get an Ontario driver's licence. You must use your Ontario licence when you are issued one. New Ontario residents have 30 days before they have to register their vehicles and get Ontario licence plates and vehicle permit.
i doubt kung kikita ang kotong cops jan.. hinidi nila alam kung pano style pag foreigner kausap. at ang mga foreigners, hindi din sanay sa mga lagay lagay.Originally Posted by OTEP

AFAIK, there are LTO offices that can also process this request for you. Just note that the international driver's license is basically just translating your license to the language of the country where you want to drive a vehicle at. For example, if you want to drive in China, your license would just be translated in Chinese. Since the Philippine license is in English, you don't need to have it translated if you are going to an English-speaking nation e.g. the US, Canada, the UK, etc. However, most English-speaking nations would only allow you to use your Philippine license for 60 days (maximum), afterwhich you would need to get a local permit from that country. When you apply for the permit, you would need to undergo a test of actually driving a vehicle to determine if your...."driving style" complies with the laws of that land.
The UK allows foreign license holders to drive up to a year ... the same period as holders of international licenses.
Going back to the Philippines, it's 90 days for a foreign licensee from what I can read on the LTO website. (ref: penalty for a foreign licensee driving past 90 days)
yung sa friend ko pinakita lang alien certificate of residence... ok na! he just followed th normal application procedure, meron na syang philippine license.. dali lang kumuha ngayun..
