Hero, timplahin mo lang yung cornstarch sa vinegar tapos lagyan mo ng chopped red siling labuyo sa bowl. low heat mo lang yung stove then sautee mo mabuti until lumapot. you may want to add water kung masyado malapot or more cornstarch to make it more thick.
When my ninong used to own oddballs, ayaw niya talagang sabihin yung recipie niya for the sauce.
Kaya eto nalang ginagamt kong sauce for my home cooked fishball, squidball, kikiam, and others.
Cooking oil
Garlic
Soy Sauce
Vinegar
Water
Brown Sugar
Cornstarch
Siling Labuyo
Sorry kung hindi ko mabigay yung exact proportions dahil everytime I make the sauce tantsahan lang talaga. Pero here are some general directions to do this.
Put enough oil to cover the bottom of your saucepan (mga 2 tablespoons siguro). Make sure the oil is hot and saute the garlic (amount of garlic is about 1 - 3 teaspoons, finely chopped). DO NOT brown the garlic. Just saute enough to extract the flavor of the garlic. After this add the toyo and water. Siguro yung proportion is about 1 tablespoon of toyo to one cup of water. Tantsahin nalang yung lasa. Dapat hindi overpowering yung taste ng toyo pero hindi rin matabang. Then you add the sugar and vinegar to taste. Eto depende na sa iyo kung ano gusto mong halo ng tamis-asim. Once nakuha mo na yng timpla na gusto mo, let the sauce boil (over low heat) for a while before adding the cornstarch (mga 2 - 3 mins). Then you can add the cornstarch. Para hindi bumuo-buo yung constarch, dissolve 1 - 2 teaspoons of the cornstarch with equal amount water before adding to the sauce. For sweet and spicy sauce, add desired amount of siling labuyo to the recipie. Let cool and enjoy!
i will try green's recipe.. kasi yung sa oddballs parang may lasang / amoy sago gulaman yung sauce... dahil siguro yung ginamit nilang ladel sa pagtimpla ng sago gulaman ay ginamit din sa pagtimpla sa sauce ehehehe
