Free parking and extended hours, up to 9:30 pm.

both...kapag isda karne at gulay sa palengke...early in the morning siguradong fresh...at nakakatulong ka pa sa local aling tindera at mamang tindero...

Wala kasing tao.

My wife and Mom-In-Law are the same way. But they seem to prefer palengke a bit more. They like to haggle with the vendor to lower the price.

Nothing beats fresh meat from palenke. Though you won't find any nicely cut steaks or baby back ribs dyan, unless order ka siguro, for those items, I go for supermarkets

Usually for veggies, meat, fish, and poultry I also go to the palengke. I feel mas fresher dito sa wet market at mas mura ng konti. One time kasi bumili ako ng packed meat sa grocery me lasang luma na. Pero as you said medyo limited nga ang choices, especially since maliit lang ang palengke namin dito. Like walang puro drumstick, or all wings/ breast/ thigh sa chicken. Usually it's 1/4, 1/2 or per kg. whole chicken. Unlike sa grocery may mga choice cuts nga, whether beef, pork or chicken. Merong pang-sigang, pang-adobo, pang-steak - and ayan naka-cut and packed na.

Given how long I shop around sa supermarket, I do find it much more convenient mag-online shopping na lang.

    meron nga.
but i have given up on how to compute.
suffice to say, it's in their cash register's computer system.
if it's not in their computer, you have no way of getting your perceived way.

Palengke if we're having guests, pero kung kami lang, Supermarket all the way...

Medyo disappointing lang Supermarket dito sa Pinas especially when it comes to fresh sea food.

And not all supermarkets are the same.

e.g. we noticed na better ang quality and cuts ng meat sa Landers (Santi's for steaks)
better vegetables (for Korean and Japanese dishes) sa Savemore SM Aura
better dry provision sa Landmark Makati
better snack and alcohol selection sa S&R

compared to our experience sa SG, Korea, Japan and HK. everything you'll ever need is under 1 roof. (I removed Malaysia & Indonesia kasi online kami noon bumibili ng pork)

Some supermarkets don't carry porks at all. Some have porks and it's in a special section, separate from the rest of the meat. What they usually have instead of porks are lamb meats.

Supermarket for meat/fish. Pwedeng palengke for everything else.

There's a better chance for the meat to be sourced from a legit source na dumaaan sa NMIS, and the scales aren't tampered with (although possibly neglected/uncalibrated lang)

Supermarket or Palengke?
