Lost boy breaches airport security

AN EIGHT-year-old boy looking for his mother managed to slip Wednesday into the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) unnoticed, reaching as far as the gate near the pre-departure area.

As of 7 p.m., the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) was contacting the relatives of Cholo Ayunda, Jr.

Retired Brigadier General Angel Atutubo, MIAA assistant general manager for security and emergency services, said airport security guards saw the boy wandering at Gate 16, an area restricted to passengers.

The boy told airport police that he wanted to be with his mother who is in Surigao. The boy said he lives with his grandmother in Sampaloc district, in Manila.

Atutubo said the boy apparently took a bus bound for NAIA and followed the people he saw at the airport.

dali lang, ang tsine-check lang naman ng security yung mga matatanda. so sumabay lang siguro yung bata sa mga matatanda, assume na nung security na kasama siya. di naman binilang yung ticket so makakapasok talaga sa airport ang bata. sa terminal fee naman hindi naman tinitignan dun sa counter ilan yung pumasok sa immigration area, boarding pass lang ang tinitignan. sa immigration ganun din, pag may bata hindi naman napapansin ng immigration officer at mataas yung counter. ano pa malay nila kung may lumusot na bata dun.

nagpalit kasi recently ng security personnel sa NAIA, they made all securities female na, mas appealing daw tignan. So, nung time na nakapasok yung bata, yun yung time na nag-change ng guards, hehe talk about timing and intelligence tactics ng bata.
