OFWs: Lahat ba kayo dumaan sa POEA?

Nagbabalak kasi sana kami mag-place ng mga Pinoy dito sa isang project kung saan may contact ako, pero I hear from yung mga kilala ko sa recruitment industry na going through POEA is the only way... Pano kung mga nasa abroad na tapos kunin namin dito?

yes, need dumaan sa poea para protected ang worker.

pwede naman kayo hindi dumaan sa agency kung gusto nyo. "name hire" ang tawag dun, where an employee with a signed, authenticated employment contract can get poea clearance. pwede ito whether nasa pinas or overseas ang "name hire" employee. basta i-present lang ang contract sa poea then bayad ng processing fees. ganito 2 cases nyan:

1. a prospective employee in the philippines gets a authenticated contract from the foreign employer. he presents it to poea, "name hire" division (dito i-process yung mga applicants na hindi dumaan sa agency). employee needs to pay poea processing fees, attend pdos (pre-daparture orientation seminar) and then gets the travel clearances. madali na lang ito since the poea has recognized that a lot of OFWs apply thru the internet, or have friends who recommend them, or are contacted by foreign employers directly.

2. a prospective employee already overseas can simply present the signed NEW employment contract when he goes home on vacation. the only fee he needs to pay is the owwa and philhealth fees. basta sabihin lang sa bmpd window na nag-start na siya mag-work dun sa new employee nya before going home for a vacation. THIS IS ASSUMING THAT THE PREVIOUS EMPLOYER HAS NO OBJECTIONS, ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO THE VISA.

saan ang jobsite? kung middle east mahirap yata yung #2 kasi mga middle east work visas e nakatali sa employer.

The jobsite is in South Africa. I don't have all the details yet pero mga 2 year contract ang tinitignan. Ok to para sa mga football fanatics kasi yung FIFA World Cup will be held here in 2010, so isang extension lang kailangan, sulit na.

No problems sa work permits because my partner is an immigration lawyer.

Kung may kialala ka, kahit di pa decided to move jobs, paki-refer naman sa thread na to kasi we'd like to build up a database of contacts for future use din.

pm mo ang tsikot admin kung pwede ka mag-post ng ad dito for job openings. then start another thread or rename this thread to "wanted for south africa" or something. ang alam ko meron dito naghanap ng work for overseas e. kung new thread i-link mo na lang dito sa thread na ito.

as for referrals, wala. lahat ng kilala ko na pwede sa job description na post mo e puro well placed na sa pinas, ayaw umalis or hindi makaalis due to family, or ofw din.
