Poe's condition 'critical and unstable'--Escudero

MOVIE actor and former presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr. is in “critical and unstable� condition after suffering a stroke, his former campaign spokesman said Sunday.

Sorsogon Representative Francis Escudero said in a television interview that additional medical equipment had been attached to Poe at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City to monitor his condition.

“He's critical, unstable... He is still in a coma,� Escudero said.

He appealed to Poe's supporters to pray for his recovery and squelched rumors spreading through mobile phone text messages that the celebrated action star had died.

“Tantanan na natin 'yan [Let's put a stop to that]. Let's just pray for his speedy recovery,� he said.

Poe has kept a low profile since losing the presidential race to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in May. He has maintained that he was cheated in the elections.

Arroyo has called for prayers for her former rival.

Mabuti na lang hindi siya nanalo, kung nagkataon nga AC DC Noli will be the prez. Sa kangkungan na talaga ang diretso ng Pinas kung nagkataon.

yeah i hated him before when he decided to run as president, totally lost all my respect for him. but now i pity him lets all pray for his speedy recovery guys
