Another bus fell off the Skyway... 15 dead as of last count...Expect heavy traffic at SLEX...Avoid the area now.

RT *dennis_datu: Hindi bababa sa 10 patay sa aksidente matapos mahulog ang bus sa skyway; marami pa nakaipit sa loob!

At first, I thought this was a revived thread, our public transport system sucks big time. What happened to the proposal to remove the boundary system for bus drivers?

This is the second time already

Engineers, could the design or materials of the Skyway be faulty? Aren't the railings supposed to be strong enough to absorb the impact of a vehicle crash? Or is the design faulty that no matter how strong the material, a vehicle has a tendency to fall off if it crashes against the railing?

RIP to the victims. It's 9 days before Christmas

if you're going over the speed limit you can't really blame the design or material.

sigurado mang yayari lang jan eh cancel ang prangkisa for a couple of months hangang sa lumamig ang issue tapos lagay ng malaki ang don mariano para maka pasada ulit. dapat talaga pakawalan si jason ivler at bigyan ng allowance sa kada gunggong nag puv drive na mapatay niya.

I'd believe there is a defect on the design of the Skyway barriers but as pointed out, it's beside the point if that is the case; the vehicle who went over were simply going too fast.

For sure, suspended ang franchise pending the investigation and at the most, it will be cancelled and the bus line will just be resurrected as another bus line. Nothing will change unless the government takes over and cancels all bus franchises. Make the city bus lines a subsidized, state-run item.

Dapat hindi radar ang naka-abangan para sa mga bus drivers. Sniper. Patayin ang bus driver na reckless magpatakbo at overstaying sa mga bus stop.

The guide-rails on the skyway is designed to retain cars and smaller vehicles (small SUV). Something as big as a bus will just roll over the rail because it has a higher center of gravity. Not faulty design, it is just over and beyond the safety systems to prevent. Also given the mass of a bus, it is very difficult and expensive to place barriers to prevent a bus from breaking through side barriers.
