im guilty of such in aguinaldo highway mahirap na ang dami kasing pedestrians minsan ang dilim tapos biglang tumatawid so it leaves me no choice either to glare other motorist or hit imbecile pedestrians

but i try to limit the usage of my high beams and floodlamps
i only use it when there is little or no oncoming traffic and in parts of aguinaldo thats are really pitched black (may part kasi na walang poste ng ilaw lalo na pag madaling araw tapos may mga lasing na dumadaan)

asar den ako sa ganyan. in fairness to some people, binababa nila yung highbeams pag nag flicker den ako. yung iba sobrang manhid. pag ganun, pag nagkatapat kme binubusinahan ko talaga. sabay karipas ng takbo. perfect example yung puting eddie bauer exped dito sa may amen.

Jim, kahit ba i-bright mo saglit to signal them ayaw pa rin patayin?

yeah i agree. a lot of people there don't know where to cross the hi-way properly. kaya minsan din naka-hi-beam ako.pero once may makasalubong ako malayo pa lang nagdi-dim na ako. yung ibang mga driver ala talaga kahit pa senyasan mo tigas parin. tuloy parang gusto ko baguhin yung alignment ng headlights ko yung tipong tatama sa mukha ng kasalubong mo pag nag-hi beam

    Just a thought:

The regular beams of our Sonata is much brighter than the high beams of our Contour. I'm assuming floodlights there mean fog lights here. Both of our cars have factory fog lights and both cars cannot have both high beams and fog lights on at the same time. It's either one or the other.

Of course, the previous statement doesn't apply when the floodlights/foglights were installed by 3rd parties and thus, can be used together with high beams.

I do tend to use my fog lights with my regular beams because everybody else do. It's pretty rare to see fog here (unlike California). So, most people use their fog lights as an extra pair of headlights to see the road better because the road paint doesn't last very long here.

yeah, i find it rudely stupid that after they have acknowledged and had their high beam turned off, just as when they come close to you , right before passing you by, they turn it on again, which is still dangerously blinding.

If you use fog lights in fog, yes. In California, fog can be so thick you can't see 10 feet ahead and often times even the road can't be seen. Fog lights enable you to at least see the road. That's why they're located down there. You still have to slow down because you still wouldn't be able to see 10 feet ahead.

Here in Arizona, they're useless because we rarely get fog. But, people love them because they make the car look "sporty". The road paint here also wears out pretty fast between monsoon rains and 120F (48C) degree weather (ang init!). Fog lights are sometimes the only way to see them at night.

Floodlights + high beams = OA.

It would be nice kung bigla na lang mamatay ang baterya ng mga yan in the middle of their 'flash' tripping...
