    yup. Assistant store manager shoots his store manager then kills himself afterwards sa rooftop ng mcdo university mall. sad to hear this kind of story...

    2 dead in Manila restaurant shooting


    An assistant manager of McDonald's restaurant on Taft Avenue in Manila shot and killed his colleague inside the eatery on Friday before shooting himself, DZMM reported.

    The suspect was identified as Louie Perez, 37, and the victim as Olive Fernandez, 32. The restaurant is near De La Salle University.

    Reporter Nelson Lubao said police are investigating that jealousy drove Perez in killing Fernandez.

    MANILA (AP) - An assistant manager of a McDonald's restaurant on Friday fatally shot his new manager and killed himself moments later, apparently jealous of his peer's promotion, police said.

    Luis Perez pulled out a pistol and shot a former assistant manager, Olive Fernandez, as a staff meeting was about to start, a police official said.

    It was Fernandez's first day in charge of the restaurant, said the official, police Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo.

    Perez immediately fled the scene and climbed onto the restaurant's roof where he shot himself in the head, Pedrozo said. Most of the customers did not hear the shots due to noise from the kitchen.

    "They were both assistant managers, but it was Olive who was chosen to take over. That's why we are looking at professional jealousy as the motive," Pedrozo said.

    Philip Cuazon Jr., McDonald's franchisee, expressed "deep regret" over his staffers' deaths and promised to "work closely with the authorities to uncover the truth about the isolated incident."

    A friend of mine just texted me about this a few minutes ago. I'll try to catch in on Saksi later. This is the 2nd time that a shooting incident happened at that area.
