Hopefully, this becomes a wakeup call to the employees of Chrysler for them to renegotiate their healthcare benefits in the interest of the company's survival.
What happens to Mitsubishi pala after the sale? (hindi ko na binasa yung articles, ang haba)
No mention of Mitsubishi.
Parang kaka-insulto sa Chrysler no? 7.4B lang for 80percent of the company.
It's like Daimler REALLY REALLY wants to get rid of Chrysler kahit magpalugi sya.
Yan na ang tingin ng investors sa American automakers. Almost no value.
malamang the new owners will run it aground in to debt, break it into pieces and sell it..![]()
DaimlerChrysler used to own maximum of 37% of mitsu. 2001 pa yan.
Then its stake went down thru the years. It sold all mitsu shares in 2005.
Now it has no stake in Mitsu.
Separate naman ang showrooms ng MB & Chryler-Dodge-Jeep. I won't be a big deal for them IMO (to note CATS also owns Mazda GH).
Great for MB, not really for Chrysler subcompanies...
It should now get back to being Daimler Benz, the way it should have been from the start.
I really don't know whether this is good for Chrysler or not.
A lot of people are apprehensive that Cereberus will do a chop-job on the company and sell off its assets, but they've already reached an agreement with the UAW, so they might be thinking long term. They've had some success with other buyouts before, so there's a marginal chance of them pulling this off.
As for whether Chrysler was good for MB or vice versa... that's a big mystery. MB certainly got a lot out of it, in terms of market share, resources, money (which they charged Chrysler for use of their old, "borrowed" platforms, which helped kickstart Chrysler's "modern" RWD revolution), etcetera... but there's no denying that they lost money in the end.
It's a sad end (or almost-end) for one of the "Big Three".
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
and the japanese autoworkers do not have the same retirement benefits/healthcare benefits like the american autoworkers do.
Laki ng ginagastos ng american automakers para sa benefits ng employees nila.

tapos American people are buying Japanese cars? There's a similarity with Pinoys who prefer imported items.
