Semiconductor Industry and reports to corporate HQ and not with the local manufacturing site, not all divisions are doing good though, like Automotive division was down for the last 2 quarters but is now slowly going back to pre-pandemic levels.

I know of a few companies (and people) in the industry who have development work teams here in the Philippines...

Not exactly R&D but with BU Product Engineering doing NPD(New Product Development) release and Sustaining support for local manufacturing as well as supporting our different OSAT within APAC.

Very happy that this industry segment was somehow resilient during this unprecedented times.

i just reminisced that among the first things i purchased when i arrived in my studio apartment in the american northwest, was a heater fan.
it was a cheap, pre-owned unit, probably previously owned by someone "just passing by" like me. i didn't even know why i bought it. but come the -ber months, it was among my most appreciated appliances.
mahina yung room heater ng apartment, as i came to realize later.

after spending for the room and board, transportation and food, and a bit of luho,
kumita pa ako from the stipend.
heh heh.

had i gone to the east coast,
pang-apartment pa lang yung stipend, kulang nah.
