is it really a good idea to put up a gambling establishment in chinatown? ang dami kayang mga schools jan. and alam naman natin ang kasunod ng sugal right? loansharking, prostitution, booze, syndicates, etc. for someone who spent his last term "beautifying" mayniLA, i can't help but feel he's contradicting himself

But even then, I am against it.
If Mayor Atienza approves of it, its simply because he can get a lot of money from it. There is already a casino filipino at UN Ave. Why not simply go there? Or build one beside his beloved Boardwalk project along Roxas Bvld?

September 29th, 2004 06:35 PM #5Really bad idea. Sabi nila slot machine lang daw pero ang mga tsinoys, they know better. Slot machine is just to get your foot on the door. When the smoke clears, unti unti nilang sisingit ang mga iba hangang full fledge casino na ito.
What's Atienza thinking? This casino will be placed in the middle of a residential district. Puro mga estudyante ang naglalakad dito araw araw. May zoning dapat iyan. Sa Gandara/Ongpin nila ilalagay ito, surrounded by condominiums. Sobrang sikip na nga diyan eh. Casinos attract wrong kinds of people.
