The new S 65 AMG from Mercedes-AMG GmbH is the most powerful model (along with the CL 65) the brand has produced since it was established 35 years ago. The dynamic luxury saloon is powered by a newly designed 6-litre V12 engine whose biturbo technology gives it a level of performance previously unheard of in this engine size class: the twelve-cylinder AMG power plant has an output of 612 hp and develops its maximum torque of 738 lb-ft between 2000 and 4000 rpm. These impressive figures are responsible for a new dimension of performance: the S 65 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The engine normally resides in the new Mercedes S 600 but was extensively modified by the BRABUS powerplant engineers. The engine delivers a maximum power output of 640 hp / 471 kW at 5,100 rpm and produces an enormous maximum torque of 1,026 Nm from 1,750 rpm.
