So, a few weeks ago there was a comment in our feedback from someone who said "LOL LOOK FILIPINO TELEVISION IS USING YOUR FANSUBS TO DUB STUFF".

The message originally linked to [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZc_5Hptus"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/ame] , but there seem to be about 20 other copies of the same thing (typical JewTube crap). In there, there's a logo for ABS-CBN TV station, with our Shippuuden opening playing, with karaoke cut out, and tagalog subtitles and music replacing Japanese.

Being a gullible bunch of trolls that we are, we took it literally and put a little message at the end of our Shippuuden episode 26, something long the lines of "LOL * FILIPINO TV".

And then the fun started. We got accused of being racist, homo***ual, insensitive, and disrespectful. Here's a little sample of the kind of threats we got from REAL Filipinos:

i must say that i am not unaware of dattebayo's insensitivity to other people's feelings, and that you would go to as far as sporting a lie just to cover up for your indescretion; take for example as what you did with the victims of VTech massacre. you not only disrespected the bereaved families and friends of the victims, but you made a mockery out of their misfortune. if you could do this to the dead, there is more reason to believe that you could do this to third world citizens?

After much lolling, Dattebayo ex-member 'timecop' decided to take this matter in his own hands and post a public apology to all Filipinos, ABS-CBN TV, and anyone else who was hurt or saddened by the comment in episode 26.

Saw the message in episode 26. But it is more directed at ABS-CBN pirating from the net Naruto Episodes and profiting from it. Sobrang obvious naman galing sa Dattebayo (logo, subtitle, karoeke lyrics...) yung iilan episodes ng ABS-CBN na walang permiso.

And with comments like "Typical Jew Tube crap"? Great group to copy from... obviously racist homophobic white people. But that's beside the point... LOL*Filipino TV is a direct jab at ABS-CBN... not pinoys. Although the link to that idiotic "Anonymous Coward" post seems unnecessary.

jpdm... cool ka lang... medyo inappropriate yung comments mo, seeing as Dattebayo is a UK-based group, not Japanese... and the post featured in the link is also probably of UK or US origin.

This is a bunch of teenage or 20-something white-guys. NOT Japanese.

So what's the point of this thread? A bunch of whiny white boys whining that ABS-CBN stole their rips without paying royalties? Maybe both groups (ABS-CBN and Dattebayo) ought to start paying royalties to the people who actually made the cartoons?

Based from other forums, Hindi pa daw pinapalabas sa ABS CBN yung Naruto Shippuden series, paano naman kaya nangyari yun? can anyone confirm? Fake daw yung logo ng ABSCBN dun sa video. nauto lang ng isang youtube troll yung Dattebayo group and they offered a public apology already. I actually saw this once while watching it on Studio 23, I think 2 years ago. It was complete with the Dattebayo presents, Karoake lyrics, and subtitles, but dubbed in tagalog. Naruto is a really loooong series, parang 4 years na ata siya...It took around 6 or 8 episodes just for them to kill one of the bad guys in one battle scene.

those comments came from a very ignorant individual. it's hypocrite of him to say those comments if it did in fact come from someone of non japanese descent. it's the pot calling the kettle black.
