top gear, simply because the hosts make me laugh more.

although fifth gear's hosts are more skilled when it comes to driving, after a while their driving tricks get boring and repetitive.

top gear, on the other hand, constantly has a crazy new stunt on practically every episode

I've seen a number of Top Gear shows on cable. I haven't seen Fifth Gear yet. Personally, I prefer 100% attention on the cars being reviewed rather than watch the hosts. That's why I prefer that car review show (can't remember the name) on US public tv which gives a more real-world accessment of vehicles.

Never mind. I did see several episodes of Fifth Gear. I just never paid attention to the show title before. I still prefer that US show on public tv.

Top Gear used to be all about cars. 90% of the content was the hosts whanging the cars around their test course (old airfields are just damn cool) or elsewhere, and making quips and wisecracks about the cars... and occassionally racing each other.

The current Top Gear has included a lot of "challenges", non-testing or reviewing related content... it's sad that there are less straight reviews, but the new format is built to appeal to the wider audience that has now tuned in to TG.
