We got product brands, stores, places etc. that we had grown up with on the other thread, now what are your favorite TV shows, cartoons, TV commercials & movies that you had grown up with or are nostalgic to you?
Cartoons: Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, My Little Pony and Friends, Simpsons and Super Book (member ako ng club hehe). I also got to watch Voltes V.
TV shows: Alf, Perfect Strangers, Small Wonder, Cosby Show and Moonlighting.
Movies: I have faint memory of watching Gremlins, Labyrinth and Little Shop of Horrors when I was little. I remember crying while watching it because I was so scared. hehe.
TV commercials: I remember Seiko Wallet ( ang wallet na maswerte), Caronia, 680 Home Appliance and Pigromix. heehee.
Student Canteen. Although, I was struggling with my engineering course, I'd kick butt while watching Student Canteen on tv. My parents would often ask how come I know the answers to almost all the questions (even doing better than the daily winner) in that show and then be struggling with my studies?
PBA. I liked soccer much better than basketball. But, I never missed the PBA, esp the All-Filipino Conference. When I first arrived there, the Crispa-Toyota rivalry was on. Towards the last couple of years there, I turned more to international soccer on tv.
Cartoons.... There were the Japanese robot cartoons. But, I still preferred Space Cruiser Yamato/Starblazers over any of them. Loony toons are still a favorite of mine even today.... Johny Quest was also a favorite.
As for shows..... bleh. Most english-language shows weren't my type. The only two I liked I can remember are the Robert Conrad shows: Wild Wild West and Baa Baa Black Sheep. Everyone here probably knows I often post WW2 aircraft pics as my signature. I love warbirds. So Baa Baa Black Sheep was most welcome.
As for Pinoy shows/movies..... He He. I had a hard enough time with Tagalog on my own. But, anything with a young, luscious, and juicy Lorna Tolentino, I'll watch. I don't care what she's saying. I'll watch her.
Plus, who can forget those black and while Pinoy movies where the good guy mows down a bunch of bad guys without ever reloading?
Add: Although I didn't go myself.... I remember one day when over half of my class played hookey to watch Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains the Same " at the Odeon. <---- At Zapote?
