The former partner of Quezon City Councilor Hero Bautista who was allegedly linked to the illegal drug trade is missing, police said yesterday.
Rio April Choi’s mother sought police help on Sept. 14, a few days after she disappeared, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said.
Bautista, younger brother of Mayor Herbert Bautista, took a leave from the city council to undergo drug rehabilitation.
Bautista, a councilor of the city’s fourth district, had admitted being a drug addict.
Choi’s mother told the Eastwood police that her daughter was last seen at around 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 at their condominium unit in Barangay Bagumbayan.
Choi, 33, reportedly left the house, supposedly to meet someone, but failed to return.
Choi’s parents are set to meet with Eleazar tomorrow to discuss details surrounding her disappearance.
Reports said that Choi had links to Ma. Aurora Moynihan, sister of actress Maritoni Fernandez, who was shot dead in Quezon City recently.
Police tagged Moynihan as a supplier of drugs to celebrities.
“We are looking into her alleged connection to Moynihan,” Eleazar said.
Police are also checking if Choi is on the watchlist of the QCPD. – Robertzon Ramirez
